Sheer Lipstick is Now the New Liquid Lipstick, Thanks to Glossier.

Glossier is all the rage now. It's the new kid in the makeup world, but the ultra-cool kid that others aspire to be friends with. Canada used to be one of those many countries who were unable to get acquainted with the brand, but I'm now so excited that ever since just a few weeks ago, Glossier is now available to ship to Canada - and without any ridiculous shipping costs! In fact, with my two purchases, I did not pay any duties or shipping fees!

Specifically, Glossier's Generation G Matte Lipsticks* were what drew me to purchase from the brand. Recently, I've been absolutely loving the "popsicle" or, according to Glossier, the "just-blotted" lip look, which is a far cry from the drying and intense liquid lipsticks. These lipsticks achieve just what it claims: a sheer, diffused matte wash of pigment that prettily adds a subtle tint on the lips. The range includes a well rounded spectrum of 6 shades that include very light to dark shades.

Before I review the actual products, it's important to discuss the simply stunning packaging - emphasis on "simply". It's amazing how a brand can attract so much for their simple design, but still appear luxe and high quality. Upon receiving my entire packaging, I was in awe: a welcome note in a cute envelope, a sheet of stickers, their famous pink bubblewrap pouch... absolutely adorable! In terms of the lipstick packaging, they are incased in a simple twist-up sturdy white plastic tube, imprinted with the Glossier's simple yet bold logo.

On to the actual lipsticks, I purchased the shades "Jam" (left swatch) and "Crush" (right swatch) which are described as a deep berry magenta and a hot raspberry pink, respectively. I feel that these darkest shades from the range are more likely to achieve the popsicle look as well as offer buildable pigment. The lipsticks deposit a sheer pigment with a few swipes, but can be built up nicely to an almost opaque tint. The consistency of them is very smooth and balm-like and very comfortable to wear, despite them drying matte. I like to dab them onto the center of my lips and blend them out towards the corners of my lips with my fingers to create a more natural and blotted lip look.

Overall, I am really infatuated with Glossier and admire their brand very much and am looking forward to trying more from them soon! You can shop from Glossier here* and get 10% off from your order!

    1. I definitely agree! Many times I'll miss out on a brand just because their shipping costs are ridiculous!

  3. I picked up two things from them once I heard they started shipping to Canada. So far I'm liking both, but haven't been wow'd by them just yet. I know a ton of people like these Gen G lipsticks, so I'll have to pick one up for myself the next time I put in an order :)
