It's time for the annual "Best of Beauty" end-of-year post! In this 2017 roundup, I feature my favourite products that I used in 2017 that were new disoveries to me this year. So, I haven't included my old favourites that I have still continued to use this year, but you can see them in last year's Best of Beauty post. Also, be sure to click on each product name to read my past review on the product!

Eyeshadow: Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. I was late on this bandwagon especially since this palette featured in almost everyone's Best of Beauty of 2016. However, as I mentioned in my review of this palette, it took a while for me to really appreciate the shades of this palette. Having said that, once I finlaly purchased this palette, it has definitely become my most used palette of this year. I've even hit pan on one the shades, "Tempera"!

Mascara: L'Oréal Lash Paradise. This mascara may have just replaced my highly loved Maybelline Lash Sensational, which is saying a lot. This mascara volumizes my lashes by fluffing them up and holding their curl very effectively. I'm already on my second tube!

Concealer: Rimmel Match Perfection. The Maybelline Fit Me concealer is still my most loved and most used, but this Rimmel concealer is definitely one of my favourite discoveries of 2017. This is probably the highest coverage, yet seamless concealer that I own that I reserve using for especially when I have very dark circles under my eyes as it provides excellent coverage without being too heavy or drying. A definite staple in my collection!

Blush: Clinique Cheek Pop. As I've mentioned numerous times, I love a cool-toned blush and so as I was on the quest for the coolest pink blush I could find, I discovered this Clinique blush in the shade "Pansy Pop" - a pink so cool that it's basically purple! I love this colour as well as the formula of the blush. As long as you have a dense enough brush to pick up pigment (I use the Real Techniques Contour brush*), the blush deposits a beautiful sheen of pigment onto the skin!

Blush/Highlighter: Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminiating Powder. This was the year for blush as I discovered another favourite that is so good that it's up there with one of my all-time favourite makeup products I own! The Tanya Burr Cosmetics "Peonies Please" illuminator was my answer to my search of the perfect shimmery pink blush. It's a cool-toned baby pink that is pigmented enough (very pigmented!) to act as a blush, but illuminating enough to also act as your highlighter. The illuminating element is very flattering as it gives off an almost wet look rather than an obvious powder.

Lipstick: Tanya Burr Cosmetics Lipsticks. Apparently, this year was a great one for trying out Tanya Burr Cosmetics products. Besides her blush, I also adored her lipsticks. They are beautifully formulated as they are creamy, not totally matte, yet not totally shiny either, plus they offer incredible pigment!

Lipstick: Glossier Generation G Matte Lipstick. 2017 was the year for Glossier and I indeed hopped on the bandwagon, although not totally as I only ventured into their lipsticks. The Gen G lipsticks provide a comfortable matte finish with a sheer application that gives off a very subtle lip look. My favourite way of using them is to coat my lips once with the shade and then saturate colour onto the centre of lips to achieve a "popsicle"/ombré effect. Very pretty and flattering!

Brushes: BH Cosmetics Rose Metal Brush Set. I've raved about BH Cosmetics brushes before and ever since the first time I tried them out, they've been the only brand I've purchased brushes from, given their amazing quality and even more amazing prices! So, this year I purchased another brush set from them: the Rose Gold Brush Set. Besides the stunning rose gold metallic design, the brushes themselves are amazing as the set includes a great variety of face and eye brushes that are all practical to use and are of great quality.

What were your favourite makeup products in 2017? Overall, this year was a good one in terms of discovering a variety of makeup brands and products that I didn't try before.
Now, onto 2018! Thank you for tuning in to my blog and I hope you all have a great New Year!
