Cool Girl Makeup: Adding Cool Tones Into Your Makeup.

Yes, the warm tones are all the rage, manifested by the plethora of ultra warm toned makeup products that seem to endlessly be released. Personally, I've usually been one to shy away from the very rich warm tones and instead incline towards the cooler tones such as dusky lavenders, plums, and cool toned pinks. Nonetheless, I still embrace warms and of course neutrals, but why not give a momentary spotlight on the often neglected cool side of the tonal spectrum? Here's an edit of a few cool toned favourites for eyes, cheeks, and lips!

Eyeshadow. The Tarte Tartelette In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette* is probably my most favourite palette given its diverse and versatile range of neutral shades. It's diverse as the palette features warm, neutral, and cool toned natural shades. The first row especially features a beautiful and wearable selection of cool shades that cleverly balances cool with neutral, making the tones less gray and more flattering. It's foolproof.
For a single eyeshadow that incorporates more of a cool undertone, the Maybelline 24HR Colour Tattoo* cream eyeshadow in the shade "Inked In Pink" is a perfectly appropriate example. The shadow imparts a beautiful metallic pink with a hint of cool toned purple. Overall, it imparts a versatile shade that can be framed with warm or cool toned shades.

Cheeks. I'm a sucker for cool toned blushes. It's my favourite thing ever when it comes to makeup (my all time favourite is the Too Faced "Justify My Love"* blush!). The coolest blush that I own is the Clinique Cheek Pop in "Pansy Pop"*. It's basically purple, but believe it or not, it is still very flattering and wearable. The pigmentation is just perfect as it doesn't impart too much of a stark payoff on the cheeks. Instead, it offers a pretty subtle lavender hint of colour. Beautiful and ethereal!

Lips. The popular mauve lipstick shade is a great way to incorporate cool tones to the lips as mauve tones contains some of the grayed out purple undertones. For this look I love using the Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick in "Melted Chihuahua"*. For a more nude option that leans more towards the cool side of the spectrum, I always opt for Tarte Tarteist Matte Lip Paint in "Birthday Suit"*.

  2. I'm often trying to get into cool toned eye looks - It's definitely not easy as I find myself so deep in the warm tones addiction I don't look myself when I go with the cool tones haha.
